Workshop: Evidence-based policymaking: Recent developments in the Spanish science for policy ecosystem

The CSIC is organising a workshop on 29 May: Evidence-based policy making: Recent developments in the Spanish science for policy ecosystem at the Brussels Delegation.

Objective:

The design and implementation of evidence-informed public policies has become a priority for Spain as shown by recent efforts to structure and empower institutions within the scientific and technical advisory national ecosystem and by the steps taken during the recent Spanish presidency of the Council of the European Union (July-December 2023). As the largest research performing organization in the country, CSIC is deeply committed to maximize the social value of the scientific knowledge produced by its research community and to strengthen its position within this growing advisory ecosystem. This workshop is an invitation to reflect collectively on the progressive advancement of science for policy ecosystems in Europe, and to learn about recent institutional developments in Spain. Relevant background information for the workshop may be found in the recently published English version of the Joint Research Centre Report “The Spanish scientific and technical advisory ecosystem for public policy”.
