The DG RTD offers a support service for the exploitation of results

Support Services for Exploitation of Research Results (SSERR)

This service is free to use and is specially designed for energy projects funded by the 7th Framework Programme or H2020.

The Directorate-General RTD of the European Commission offers a free support service for the “exploitation of results” specially designed for projects in the field of energy, as long as they are funded by:

  • The 7th Framework Programme, priority topic nº 5 “Energy” of the “Co-operation” programme.
  • • H2020, within the societal challenge “Secure, clean and efficient energy”.

This service is requested by the coordinator of the project at any time of the course of the project, even after it is finished.

SERVICES

The coordinator may request one or more of the following services:

  • Risk analysis: to identify potential risks and difficulties of the future exploitation of project results.
  • Strategic seminars on exploitation: to discuss the “key results” and how to manage the risks and difficulties associated to exploitation.
  • Development of a business plan: support for the development of a marketing plan for products and services.
  • Patent assistance: support service for the protection of intellectual property rights.
  • Event organization: “brokerage events” that allow coordinators to present the results of their projects to key agents, such as investors or business partners.
  • Other types of assistance: which could be agreed on according to each case.

PROCEDURE

  • The project coordinator sends an e-mail requesting the “SSERR” to this e-mail address: RTD-ENERGY-SSERR@ec.europa.eu
  • The coordinator and the pertinent Department of the European Commission, agree on the “SSERR” requested.
  • The European Commission appoints an expert/consultant, who will manage the SSERR.
  • The details of the service are agreed on between the project Coordinator and the expert/consultant.
  • The expert hired by the European Commission develops the service and delivers a final report.
  • The service provided is free of charge.
